About the Saskatchewan Soil Conservation Association (SSCA)

The Saskatchewan Soil Conservation Association (SSCA) was formed in 1987 by a group of producers who saw the need to increase the public's awareness of soil conservation and to share soil conservation information with others. The SSCA is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the promotion of Conservation Agriculture in Saskatchewan. SSCA's mission is to promote conservation agriculture systems that improve the land and environment for future generations.

An 11 member Board of Directors provides direction for the Association's activities. Nine of the directors are producers while the other two directors are Directors-at-Large. The executive, consisting of the president and two vice-presidents, is appointed by the Board.

In 2005, the SSCA was named one of Saskatchewan's 100 Environmental Champions.
